At Home Practice Tips


Have your child lay on their stomach with their legs stretched out over their heads and their legs out straight.  Have them practice their leg kicks while lying on the floor.  This exercise strengthens back muscles and aids in kicking.  This exercise can be repeated while lying on your back.  This move strengthens quadriceps and abdominal muscles which is helpful in kicking.

Have your child practice floating on their back in the bathtub.  Place a toy on their stomach to balance above the water.  This will reinforce proper stomach position in back floats.
